Watch for Camp Spirit
YouthCrew 2025 in March! Spaces limited, so sign up early. |
Joining Camp Spirit's YouthCrew Program means practicing leadership skills, spending joyful and light-hearted time with children, connecting with other young leaders, learning from Camp Spirit Coordinators and Directors, deepening your faith and making a bit of money!
People who are in Grades 8 through 11 right now are invited to sign up to be part of YouthCrew for the coming summer. In YouthCrew you'll spend time with Camp Spirit campers who are 6 to 11 years old to develop your leadership skills and learn about working with children. YouthCrew members engage directly with the children at camp. The YouthCrew Sign-Up Application will ask you describe leadership experiences that you may have, and share about your passion for volunteering with children. Leadership experience is not required. YouthCrew is often the first focused setting where Youth are trained and supported in practicing leadership skills! |
Being on YouthCrew is Being Part of Camp Spirit's Leadership TeamCONNECT! Connect with other youth, adults and children in the United Church of Canada, perhaps in your home faith community or perhaps in places you have never been before!
BUILD! CREATE! Build and create with other staff people, programs for children that are inspiring and fun and make sure that each child feels like they are loved and honoured just as they are! HAVE FUN! Have fun because well, it is a really great group of energetic, fun-loving, supportive people! You will learn a lot, you will be exhausted at the end of the day and you will bounce out of bed ready for a new day of amazing things! (o.k., maybe not bounce, but we are pretty sure you will be happy to be there!) |
As a YouthCrew member, your responsibilities include:
o Creating Visual art activities and sharing them with children o Exploring Science with children o Leading games in various settings o Singing, creating dramas |
Seth (shown left) was a Camp Spirit YouthCrew member. This is what he says about his experience....
"Crew was fun because it had a nice sense of community - not only were we working together but we felt like a summer family! I liked meeting new friends, playing my guitar all summer, building connections, watching children play and have fun, and creating this photo with Victoria!" Seth's experience as a part of YouthCrew helped prepare him to join the Camp Spirit Summer Staff team as a Music & Worship Coordinator! |
