Sharing in the Banquet at Shiloh-Sixth Avenue

I think it's safe to say that we had a lovely week at Shiloh 6th Ave.  We had an amazing group of children!  We had some kids who had been to a camp like this before and some who were coming for their first time.  Our mornings were filled with wonderful music, messy crafts, engaging stories and awesome food.  Then in the afternoons we all headed out for our out trip of the day.  Over the week we went to Moody Park for some play time, went for a refreshing swim, listen to some Brazilian music and even got to visit a petting zoo!

It was an amazing week, and everything ran smoothly thanks to all the enthusiastic volunteers and our crazy
staff.  I am really looking forward to our next week at Shaughnessy Heights!

Splashing Around at South Arm!

The great thing about South Arm is that everyone there is ready for camp! They have been doing it since forever (some of our staff went there when they were just little ones!) and everyone knows what to expect. Because of that all the campers bring the best energy!

The best part of the week for many campers was "Water Wednesday" a true blue South Arm tradition. When I first stepped out on to the field for that afternoon I knew it would be a treat. I was a little wet behind the ears (water puns anyone?) but the fun we had that day was palpable. It was great that we had not only the beautiful South Arm building, but the people to make this wonderful program possible. Without you the camp would have never happened. Thank you!

Now we travel to Shiloh 6th Ave United Church in gorgeous New Westminster. Hope to see you all there! :)

Sacred Earth: Living the Green Rule at Dunbar Heights United

Wow! What a crazy, full, fun and amazing week! I worked with such a large and amazing class it was so difficult to say goodbye. I had really connected with every child in my group. I am hoping that I may see some of them again in the other camps over the next few weeks.

Dunbar was wonderful, the volunteers were such a huge help and the location was marvelous. We had so many good moments slithering, dancing, flying and walking to our different activities. From Music with Ben, to Story Time with wonderful storytellers, to Arts and Crafts with Yasmine there was never a dull moment! Our lunches were always delicious, (Thanks to our marvelous cooks!) and the groups were always excited for the many fun things the afternoon would bring us. Some days we would work on some spiritual practices in the gym.  Spiritual practices are quiet activity prayer stations that the kids can choose as they please. It is always a favourite as it allows the kids to work quietly on their own on something they get to choose. After spiritual practices, we would head out to our Out Trip of the Day. We visited the school playground right next door on a few days, Tuesday we went to the Water Park and Thursday, a trip to Jericho Beach! This week was so much fun! I cannot wait for more fun and adventures to come. Hello South Arm!
